Who We Are

DEFENDERS OF TRUTH

WHO WE ARE

Defenders of Truth is a non-denominational, 501c3 non-profit corporation.  We are dedicated to publishing Bible curriculum that enables students to apply their learning across spontaneous situations and settings—called critical thinking.  This requires discovery and practice.  There is nothing like it on the market today.

Here are some examples:

  • Thomas is ridiculed at school for mentioning that Jesus is the only way to heaven. Seeking comfort, Thomas decides to identify every Scripture passage in which Jesus himself encouraged others to stand for truth.  Can Thomas demonstrate how to discover this on his own, using Bible search tools and skills?
  • Ann has memorized passages of scripture that relate to signs of the end times. Can she also demonstrate the ability to effectively use evidence to justify her belief that these are the end times?
  • Miguel’s family has recently moved to a new state.  Miguel is the only one in his family who has a relationship with Jesus, and they let Miguel decide for himself when or where he attends church.  Can Miguel demonstrate a process for searching out a reliable Bible-teaching church using only the INTERNET?
  • Connie recognizes that the Bible is God’s Word and our guidebook. But does she have the skills to determine if a particular version (for instance, the New World Translation used by Jehovah’s Witnesses) is reliable?  Can she articulate why it is important to differentiate, and more importantly how to differentiate, accurate Bible versions from those with doctrinal errors?  Can she further demonstrate her process for concluding whether a translation is reliable?

OUR MISSION

DTBC is committed to the writing and development of focused, strategic, and sequential Bible curriculum unlike any other on the market. The objective of our curriculum is to develop Godly young men and women who know what they believe, why they believe it, what distinguishes their beliefs from other systems, how to withstand and answer cultural shifts, and how to lovingly draw others into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Paula Morales

PRESIDENT

Paula Morales made her commitment to Jesus Christ at age 5. The daughter of missionaries and church planters, her desire to learn and grow has continued throughout her life. She served 30 years as a public school educator and middle school administrator, where she witnessed first-hand the inadequacies of Christian youth to maintain resilience amid cultural sway and spiritual confusion. She retired in 2013 to pursue the DOT mission.

Board of Directors

The DTBC board of directors is composed of five members from various denominations and career backgrounds who are united in purpose and vision. All members, which include an engineer, insurance specialist, middle school mathematics teacher, public school library media specialist, and the board President, bring unique wisdom and talents to the corporation. Board members volunteer their time and are not paid for their service.
